Trivial Tuesday

Posted by AlienCG on August 19, 2008

This week is a list that continues with the theme started last week.  There are plenty of correct answers to this one, but many of them may not be so easy.  It’s based on, of course, the Beijing Olympic Games.  This question is in honor of Baseball and Softball which will be excluded in the 2012 games.

Throughout the history of the modern games (since 1896, Athens) many events have come and gone over the past 112 years.  Some were simply demonstration and others were for medals.  Name as many as you can.  Bonus points for anyone who can name the two events that were taken out of the Summer Games in 1920, but still remain Olympic events.

I read about a couple of sports that were only played or demonstrated once. There is cricket and croquet, I think. Dang, I can’t remember anymore…lacrosse maybe?

I’m betting the answer isn’t Pong, is it? Just kidding. I’m going with what the other commenters said.

There are many, many different ones to choose. Some are well known, others, not so much in the US.
