Lacuna Sunrise

Posted by AlienCG on November 15, 2008

This week’s word, a value at $5, was brought to us by K_Srasra over at YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW (ALMOST) EVERY DAY.  This week’s word is LACUNA and, I confess, I had to look it up…honestly.  My post this week is not about the photo, although I will post one.

Yes, there is a LACUNA (a gap) of sorts here, but I have to go back about 16½ years to to explain.  It will also reveal a little bit more about me (I don’t know if I mentioned this before).  It was way back in April of 1991 as I left school one Monday afternoon and a life-changing event was about to take place.  I walked to the curb and was about to cross the street to get to the bus stop like I did everyday.  The next thing I remember was hitting the street, getting up and running the rest of the way across the street.  There is a LACUNA in my memory between the time I stepped off the curb to the time I hit the street.  It turns out that I got hit by a car, rolled up the hood, into the windshield and back down to the ground.  I have asked people from that day to help me fill in the blank, but nobody is able to help.  I’m glad to be giving you this insight into my life, have a good weekend.

I remember you telling me that story! Did the driver stop to check if you were alright or did he/she drive off?

The picture works, because the story is about you! You look very stern, by the way 🙂
I can’t believe you got hit and no one has anything to tell you about it!

That’s not good to get hit by a car and not remember it.. Too bad no one around was able to fill in the Lacuna..lol.. Hopefully the person that hit you at least stopped..

How awful. I had memory loss after my daughter were in that horse and buggy accident, but I don’t want to remember that.

Wow, very interesting! Did the driver stop? He or she probably would be the best one to “fill-in-the-gap” for you.
