Miscellaneous Stuff

Posted by AlienCG on May 7, 2009

First of all, in case you missed it, David in DC got the correct answer to my Trivial Tuesday question. He didn’t win anything except for bragging rights that he knows his Crayola crayons. This question inspired me to bring back, starting Monday, Act Like a Kid Week.  Yes, once again, have fun, eat Cocoa Puffs while watching cartoons and start coloring with your Crayola crayons (I have a box of 96).  I hope you will join in and post some kid-inspired posts again.

Just to let you know, I am suspending the weekly Freebie Friday audio post until further notice.  The response has been underwhelming to me, and the time investment to put this together isn’t worth it.  Each audio file is only about 5 to 6 minutes long, but it takes approximately 2 hours for each.  First I write up my script, as it were, which takes about 45 minutes to an hour.  Then I have to record which takes another hour or so depending on how badly I screw up.  Then, the easiest part is splicing the good takes, adding the intro and ending and finally uploading it the saved file.  I do want to do more audio posts, but it has to be worth it to me.  I will keep the previous two up so that visitors can listen if they want.  I am also linking them below.

I am still unemployed, but I am still looking up and ahead.  I’m trying to remain optimistic that things will improve soon.  My resume is out there, but so far I have had no bites.  I know I’ll do well for myself and will be doing what I love soon enough.  Still though, thinking good thoughts never hurt either.

Here are my audio posts:

Gabcast! Freebie Friday #1 – AVG, IrfanView, GIMP

AVG Anti-Virus, IrfanView and The GIMP. This is the first audio post I’ve ever done

Gabcast! Freebie Friday #2 – The Google Special

I review my favorite Google apps and services.

I thought the answer might be crayons, but didn’t act on it.

I am 100% for bringing back Act Like a Kid Week! We all could use that fun in our lives, no matter what our individual situations.
I’m sorry you are taking a break from your audio posts, but given the time that goes into them I can fully understand. They’re great though.

I love act like a kid week. I’m usually lucky if I get in a half hour to write a blog post. I rarely even link things.

Act like a kid week is something I can so get behind.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you to find a new job soon.
