Boy, Am I Screwed

Posted by AlienCG on June 4, 2009

OK, I was, but it’s all better now. I walked out to my car on Tuesday and found that I had a screw in my tire. It didn’t look too bad, but things are not always as they seem. It was bad. Why?

See?  That’s really not good.  It’s in the sidewall of the tire.  Unfortunately, it is not possible to patch it or plug it because that part of the tire is under more physical stress in that area.  Wanna see it closer up?

I thought so.  I did drive on it for about 24 hours until I could get the tire replaced.  The screw did well at holding in the air.  I got both rear tires done and saved the good one so I can have it made into a real spare.  Honestly, I just posted the close-up because it looked so cool.  So, there we have it.  One screwed tire.

  1. Well that stinks. Looks like a fairly new tire too. If ain’t one thing it’s another, huh?

And thanks for the suggestion about blog post titles!

  2. Wow. Fantastic close up!

Glad you could afford to replace the two tires. Keeping the other one was a good idea. I’ve been in situations where my spare was scary and no guarantee that it would get me much farther than the flat. ha.

that sucks that it hit in just the wrong place so you couldn’t just patch. Smart of you to get two tires though.

What is that saying…screwed, blewed (blued?), and tattooed. I had to look up the meaning and it has nothing to do with anything even remotely having to do with this. Still, it is kind of stuck in my head now. Thanks. haha!
