Trivial Tuesday, Redux

Posted by AlienCG on June 24, 2009

Here’s a nearly impossible trivia question for everybody to participate in. Back in the 1980’s there was this little song that was all the rage. Well, here’s the question

Name all of the artists and two groups listed as performers on the song, “We Are the World” by USA for Africa. There are, according to Wikipedia, 38 answers to this question. So feel free to work together, but please, as always, don’t cheat.

Yesterday’s questions were way too easy, this may be a little more difficult. Have a good evening and good luck with this one. Still 17 more to go.  The list is in order by first name (unless it’s one of the two groups beginning with “The”).

Bob Dylan Manuel
Bob Geldof Laura B.
Bruce Springsteen Manuel
Cyndi Lauper Laura B.
Dan Aykroyd Laura B.
Daryl Hall Manuel
Diana Ross Laura B.
Huey Lewis Manuel
Jackie Jackson Laura B.
John Oates Manuel
Kenny Rogers Manuel
LaToya Jackson Laura B.
Lionel Richie Laura B.
Marlon Jackson Laura B.
Michael Jackson Laura B.
Randy Jackson Laura B.
Ray Charles Laura B.
Stevie Wonder Laura B.
The Pointer Sisters Laura B.
Tina Turner Manuel
Tito Jackson Laura B.

  1. Oh my gosh… this one is going to stump me badly. I can think of George Michaels, Sting, aaahhh… aaahhh… Yikes I’ll have to think long and hard about this one. If I can think of more, I’ll be back.

Yes, this is a very hard one!

George Michael and Sting were part of Band-Aid, but not USA for Africa. There were British performers involved, though.

Yikes…I know a few, if memory serves. For sure not all! Um, lets see… dang, I know there were some Jacksons, Michael, but I’m not sure who else…Stevie Wonder was there…um, Lionel Richie….Bob Geldorf, Cyndi Lauper….I think the Pointer Sisters? Oh, oddly Dan Ackroyd. Guh. I can’t think of anymore!!!

Okay…Jacksons….Tito? Randy? Marlon? Jackie? Dang…one of the sisters? Probably LaToya. Oh! Diana Ross too! Their idol or mentor or whatever she was to them…
Quincy Jones. Yeah. Grrrr. I’ll be back. Maybe.

Off the top of my head, those not mentioned are The Boss, Huey Lewis, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and Hall and Oates. Kenny Rogers? Was Tina Turner there?

So, does that little box mean Laura B. got all of them, or are there more to be named?

    EDITED 6/25
There are 17 more to be named. Laura B. has 14 and Manuel has 7. Come on, it’s not that hard, but it’s far from easy.

    Was Ray Charles there?

    Cameron Diaz?

NoRegrets: Was she even born yet?
